Green Space and Health / by Charlie Noton

A range of bodies have highlighted the possible physical and mental health benefits of access to green space. This POSTnote (Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology) summarises the benefits of contact with nature, including parks, woodlands and allotments. Only half of people in England live within 300 metres of green space and the amount of green space available is expected to decrease as urban infrastructure expands, which makes urban initiatives such as Trees for Cities and plans for a Greater London National Park City so important.
